About FileCaveat
A professional legal service platform by FileCaveat, making Caveat Petition filing accessible and efficient across India.
Who We Are
FileCaveat is a digital service platform operated by FileCaveat, a law firm based in Puducherry, India. We are a team of practising advocates enrolled with the Bar Council of India under the Advocates Act, 1961.
FileCaveat was created to address a practical gap: many individuals who need to protect their rights by filing a Caveat Petition under Section 148A of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 lack straightforward access to professional legal assistance — especially when the threat of an ex-parte order is imminent and time is short.
Our platform digitises the intake, drafting, review, and payment steps so that the client experience is transparent and efficient, while the core legal work remains firmly in the hands of enrolled advocates.
Our principal advocate, Ganesh Shriram.G.R (Bar Enrollment No. JH/1330/2023), oversees all petition drafts before they are finalised and filed. Every petition filed through this platform is reviewed and authenticated by a qualified advocate.
Our Mission
To democratise access to Caveat Petition filing by combining professional legal expertise with modern digital infrastructure — so that anyone, anywhere in India, can protect their legal rights quickly, affordably, and without procedural barriers.
A caveat is a protective legal instrument. Yet the process of filing one has historically required in-person visits to a lawyer's office, manual drafting of petitions, and physical filing at the court — a chain of steps that can take days when every hour matters.
FileCaveat collapses this timeline. A client can submit their details online, receive a professionally reviewed draft, make payment, and have their caveat filed — all through a single, structured digital workflow.
The Team
FileCaveat comprises practising advocates enrolled with the Bar Council of India. Our advocates hold current enrolments under the Bar Councils of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu, and practise regularly before the courts of Puducherry and the Madras High Court.
All petition drafts generated through the FileCaveat platform are reviewed and approved by a qualified, enrolled advocate before any court filing takes place. The use of AI-assisted drafting tools is strictly internal — every document presented to a court is the product of professional legal review.
We do not make claims about outcomes. Legal proceedings involve factors beyond any advocate's control. Our commitment is to professional, diligent, and ethically compliant service.
